About
Common Sense HomemakingWelcome to Common Sense Homemaking – Practical Homemaking Support and Guidance.
I’m Teresa and I’m so glad you’re here.
Thank you for taking the time to look over the website and blog. I hope you find the information here helpful and supportive and will visit often.
I created Common Sense Homemaking as a safe and expansive resource for women seeking validation, encouragement, wisdom, and practical tools to support their homemaking, motherhood, and marriage partner roles with confidence and joy.
A Lifetime of Experience
With nearly six decades of life experience, most spent as a wife, mother, and grandmother, I have walked through almost every season of homemaking and motherhood.
From raising children, launching children, and releasing children, to establishing and maintaining a marital bond, and purposely building a home filled with faith, love, and comfort. This calling has always been my favorite and most fulfilling role.
My second most fulfilling role has been as a marriage and family therapist, writer, speaker, and relationship specialist.
It has been my joy to come alongside and help families and couples heal, grow, and thrive relationally, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
The Heart Behind It All
In today’s culture, many women feel pressured by societal norms to reject traditional homemaking and motherhood as their primary focus, seeking fulfillment through a culturally defined career.
However, homemaking is more than just an obligatory role; I view homemaking and motherhood as the most significant influencer roles in the world. To that end, my goal through Common Sense Homemaking is to:
- Encourage women who feel devalued or undervalued in their homemaking journey.
- Support homemakers who face cultural pushback for embracing a family-centered ideology.
- Teach and train homemakers in both the practical and spiritual aspects of homemaking, from cooking and cleaning to parenting, marital connection, and biblical family leadership.
- Equip homemakers to be strong, influential voices in their homes and communities, shaping the next generation with love and wisdom.
More Than Just Housework
Homemaking isn’t just about keeping a tidy house; it’s about building a generational foundation, a legacy.
It’s about creating an environment where faith flourishes, relationships strengthen, and children grow up knowing they are loved, safe, valued, and guided by biblical truth.
Here at Common Sense Homemaking, you’ll find resources to help you cultivate a home that reflects God’s design. Whether that’s through practical, common-sense homemaking skills, Christ-centered parenting, or encouragement for your marriage.
