The Beginning: Chrysalis Connections
Chrysalis Connections is the original counseling practice founded by Dr. Teresa M. Walters in 2008. As the private practice, built on a family systems framework and spiritually sensitive psychotherapy, matured and expanded over time, it eventually gave rise to the Natural Relational Health Institute. A comprehensive platform with a broader framework that accommodates natural relational health education and counseling services.
Emerging Into New Life
Chrysalis Connections was originally designed to highlight the dominant life stages of marriage, family, parenting, and the adult child launch sequence. It was built on the principle of spiritual maturity, as the foundation upon which healthy relational bonds are established and nurtured.
The Natural Relational Health Institute further clarifies the paradigm of relational health by emphasizing a three-pillar approach, which highlights our vertical relationalship with God, our relationship with ourselves, and our horizontal relationship with others. Within the context of these three relational bonds,
- Relationship with God,
- Relationship with Self,
- Relationship with Others.
Life becomes cohesive, stable, safe, and satisfying.
Rather than replacing Chrysalis Connections, the Institute represents the practice’s organic maturation process. While all traditional counseling services remain unchanged, clients can now explore a broader framework for relational health that includes a variety of educational resources.

Over time, several relational health projects developed alongside the counseling work of Chrysalis Connections. Each reflects a specific focus and expression of the same underlying philosophy of natural relational health and well-being.
Common Sense Homemaking
Common Sense Homemaking reclaims the value of the homemaker’s role by offering encouragement and practical tools to help homemakers become World Changing Influencers. Its primary purpose is to teach, lead, encourage, and equip homemakers to build Christ-centered homes that thrive on love, leadership, and eternal truth.
Son Light Publications
Son Light Publications offers timely, Christ-centered encouragement and support. It is positioned to be the platform from which written works, ideas, articles, and books can be disseminated to larger audiences and media.
DrTMWalters.com
The DrTMWalters.com website highlights Dr. Walter’s affinity for people struggling with relational issues. It has been her first attempt to expand services to include a teaching and leadership element to her natural relational health focus. By highlighting marriage restoration and family wellness services, this work increased her focus on saving the marriage, the home, and the family system.
A Cohesive Natural Relational Health Platform
The Natural Relational Health Institute offers a cohesive platform for Dr. Walter’s three-tier approach to restoring God’s design for relational health. Through faith-based education and counseling services, designed to cultivate healthy relationships with God, Self, and Others, we reclaim our relational birthright and enjoy the rich, abundant, and satisfying life we were meant to live.
The Natural Relational Health Institute provides a cohesive home for all of these projects to fit together in one unified place. It offers clients practical support and encouragement as they navigate their particular journey to relational wholeness.
